Overview
In this article we will address various components that will help teachers understand what students see and how to best utilize Pathways Learning.
Individualizing Student Settings
Teachers can enable or disable various settings for the class while also modifying those same settings at an individual level.
- Navigate to your classroom roster under the Manage Class menu item. Once the roster loads, click the gear icon to the right of a student's name and toggle to the Learning tab.
- From here, teachers can individualize specific settings based on the needs of their students. These settings can be restored back to the class default easily.

Reviewing the Student Account
- Reviewing a student's account is called masquerading. You can navigate to your classroom roster under the Manage Class menu item.
- Next, locate the student and click sign in. You are not being signed out of your teacher account. This is a great option when you'd like to validate what the student sees, report issues, and more!

- Once you are done reviewing what you need to see, click on the student's avatar in the upper right hand corner, and then the Stop Masquerading link to be taken back to your account.

Navigating the Student Dashboard
- Once signed in, students will see any classroom that they are currently enrolled in. They can click on Launch for the appropriate classroom.

- Once the classroom has launched, tasks will be listed on the classroom dashboard. To start working, students will click on launch for one of the tasks.
- On the dashboard, students can click "view progress" to see how they are doing within their Learning Paths (Math, ELA, Fact Fluency, and Spelling).
- To review additional progress, students can hover over Math or ELA and select reports. They can also review Spelling practice results under Spelling and other reports under Reading.

- Math and ELA practice and Learning Check summaries for the past week can be reviewed once the student selects Activity Stream.

Using the Fun Zone
The Fun Zone is enabled by default unless Privacy settings, within your account, are adjusted.

What can students do in the Fun Zone?
- Change or upgrade their avatar. Most are free but animated avatars cost 10 coins.
- Play games. The first time any game is played it is free. Subsequent plays cost 10 coins each time. Games time out after 5 minutes.
- Rewards can be accessed if the teacher has set them up.
- Wallpaper and account theme color cost 10 coins.
Friends and Shoutouts
Students can send friendly pre-populated messages to their friends in their Pathways Learning classrooms.

What can students do with Friends and Shoutouts?
- They can access Friends in the left-hand navigation.
- They can add their friends by clicking on the Friends tile. They can also enter a friend's secret code and click add.
- To send a shoutout to a friend, they can click on the message icon next to the friend. In order to send a shoutout, the student has to have completed practice sessions that week and earned coins.
